Ensuring that your website can be found...

Most Internet users query Search Engines (SEs) on a regular basis to find information on the Web. Getting your website included in search engine and directory listings is very important if you want people to be able to find it - and I'm sure that you do!

Although there are many search engines, over 90% of search engine enquiries are made through just a few of the top search engines. As part of our service to our Web design clients in the Skipton area, and further afield, we carry out on-page SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to improve a website's chances of listing well for the most relevant search terms.

The main SEs are Google, Bing & Yahoo (Bing & Yahoo have however recently joined forces for search purposes) and we submit each newly completed website to all three as part of our service. One web directory (website listings compiled by human editors) worth considering is ODP (Open Directory Project). A listing in ODP can help to improve rankings in the main SEs.
